Chef JJ Johnson

Chef JJ is a renowned chef and tastemaker based in New York City known for his innovative approach to African Caribbean cuisine. I worked with Chef JJ at a pivotal point in his career as he was undergoing a rebrand, managing numerous brand partnerships,  launching his James Beard Award-winning cookbook, Between Harlem & Heaven, opening the first location of his fast-casual restaurant, FIELDTRIP, and launching his first cooking show, Just Eats. Wearing many hats as a strategic and executional partner, I activated brand partnerships with national and global brands such as Mastercard, Lyft, Buzzfeed Tasty, Food & Wine, WalMart and The James Beard Foundation. I launched the first location of FIELDTRIP, working on the brand's digital and live presence from early stages through opening. Through a diverse array of projects and activations, my work was centered on thoughtfully growing the JJ brand world while maintaining the heart of the JJ story.
